Summer coincides with the beginning of a long season of the liturgical year often called Ordinary Time or the Time after Pentecost.
We are invited in this ordinary time to consider the beauty of the plain, the everyday, the simple. In the words of Gerard Manley Hopkins, the ordinary, everyday is ”charged with the grandeur of God."

Shades Valley Lutheran Church is a small, but enthusiastic community of faith, part of the Christian tradition known as Lutheran -- more specifically the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
As Christians of the Lutheran variety, we believe it all starts with God’s grace. This grace forgives, heals, and frees us to live the abundant life now. It’s not a matter of earning our freedom or “living right” in order to merit it. What heals and frees us is the gift of forgiveness given through Christ for all people. Trusting God's grace frees us to join God in what God is up to in the world.
