Director of Children & Youth Ministries
Shepherd of the Hills & Shades Valley Lutheran Churches are seeking a Part-Time Director of Children & Youth Ministries to serve our two congregations. This position is an opportunity for great experience in ministry work.
The right candidate will be called to seek out, disciple and minister to youth. This person will be organized and willing to step outside the church to spend time with youth. This person should have strong leadership skills, empathy, and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Other responsibilities include developing relationships with parents, coordinating lesson plans and teaching schedules for all ages, and organizing activities and programs for youth events such as lock-ins, monthly activities for middle and high school youth, and quarterly activities for elementary school and preschool children. Plan Mission Trips each summer. Organize and attend Synod gatherings for youth.
The person hired for this position and their family will be welcomed as a part of the body of Christ at our church and encouraged through mentorship with our pastor and assisted by the congregation and other church leaders.

Job Type: Part-time (20 hrs/wk)
Pay $15-20/hr based on qualifications
Experience:
- Leadership: 1 year (Preferred)
- Working with youth: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
Required:
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Valid Drivers license & dependable transportation
- Undergo background check
- Ability to work 12 months/year
